UTK CANVAS aims to help current students connect with their peers, prospective students learn more about opportunities found only at UT, parents stay informed on campus news and events, and alumni reconnect with their alma mater long after they have left Rocky Top.

In addition to being a source of information for those within the Volunteer State, we also hope it serves as a gateway for those outsides of Tennessee who want to learn more about what makes our great university tick.

What is UTK Canvas?

UTK canvas is an online application for students, faculty, staff to access university information such as grades, course info, assignments, etc.

Why was UTK Canvas created?

All universities are going paperless . It makes sense that they’d want all their information in one place, rather than spread out over many different websites. A lot of universities also use a software called Blackboard (not to be confused with UT blackboard, which is an entirely different thing). Many universities are moving away from Blackboard because it’s very expensive to keep the software up-to-date. So, they’re using something called open source. Open Source just means that instead of keeping all the code behind closed doors, you share it with everyone. This way many developers can help improve and update the code.

How do I access UTK Canvas?
