What is EKU Direct?

Eku Direct is the online portal for students of Eastern Kentucky University. It provides access to a variety of resources, including course materials, grades, and email.

In order to access EKU Direct, go to https://my.as.uky.edu/eku-direct and type in your username and password. The username will be the same one that you use for other online accounts, while the password is a six-digit number sent to your email at the beginning of each semester. Eastern Kentucky University Blackboard

EKU Blackboard is managed by the Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE). ODEE provides support for all faculty and staff using EKU Blackboard; this includes assistance with uploading documents, creating announcements, adding grades, setting up gradesheets (for instructors) & drop boxes (for instructors), as well as many other types of support. ODEE also takes care of maintaining both the hardware and software used to manage EKU Blackboard.

EKU Direct Login

To login to Eku Direct, visit the website and click on the login button in the top right corner of the screen. Enter your username and password, and click on the login button.

The first time you login, you will be asked to change your password. To create a new password, type in your current password under “Old Password” and select either “password” or “password (repeat)” as the security question. Type in your desired new password under “New Password” and re-type it again for confirmation. Click on submit once finished.

1. Go to the Eastern Kentucky University website which is eku.blackboard.com.

2. Click on “Blackboard” in the menu bar at the top of the page.

3. In the login area, enter your username and password.

4. Click on “Login”.

5. You are now logged into your blackboard account.

6. Click on “Course Menu” at the top navigation bar.

7. Click on the name of the class you wish to see using Blackboard.

8. If you are allowed in, proceed to lesson or assignment material for that course, otherwise, contact your instructor for assistance with logging in to your online course section.

First-time users: EKU Direct & EKU email

If you are a first-time user of EKU Direct, you will need to activate your account. To do this, go to the EKU Direct website and click on the “Activate Account” link. You will need to provide your EKU ID number and your date of birth.

Once you have activated your account, you can log in and begin using EKU Direct. You can also use your EKU email account. Your EKU email address is your username@eku.edu.

What is Eku myMail?

Eku myMail is the email system used by students, faculty, and staff at Eastern Kentucky University. It provides a way to send and receive emails from your campus account.

myMail is a complete email solution that includes the following tools:

  • E-mail accounts for students, faculty, and staff. Mail can be sent from any of these accounts to any other account at eku.edu.
  • My Eku provides a single central location to manage your Eku myMail account – send, receive and delete messages; check for new messages; add contacts; change password, security settings, and signature lines all from one easy to use tool.
  • Web access to your email from anywhere in the world that has Internet access or via mobile devices such as Windows Phone 7, iPhones™, iPads™ or Android™ phones/tablets.
  • The ability to send & receive text (SMS) messages using your Eku myMail account.
  • Your email address will be your user name (i.e. jdoe@eku.edu ). This means you no longer need to manage multiple usernames and passwords; it also means you can receive mail sent to any other eku.edu address (such as jane_doe@eku.edu ) in your inbox without setting up forwarding or aliases for each alternate email address.

How do I log in to EKU Direct?

To log in to EKU Direct, visit www.register.eku.edu and click on the Login button in the top right corner of the screen to open the login page. To log in to EKU Direct, you must enter your EKU ID number (consists of letters followed by 9 numbers) and PIN/Password (consists of 8 numbers). If you are not sure what your EKU ID is, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 859-622-0140 or toll-free at 1-888-873-3562.

How do I reset my PIN/Password?

If you have forgotten your PIN/password, select Forgot Your Password? on the login page to reset it. The first time that this happens you will need to re-enter your EKU ID. On subsequent visits, you will only need to enter the code provided on the page.

Your PIN number is used for identification purposes when signing into service providers that require user authentication (e.g., EKU Online, Banner Web). Your PIN/password consists of 8 digits and cannot be changed.

How do I upload documents to my personal file in EKU Direct?

To upload a document to your Personal File, click Upload Document located next to each item in your Personal File (i.e., Transcripts, Academic Verification, etc.). After clicking this link, follow the instructions on the screen to complete your upload.
