Please note that if you sign up for a new account at, it can take 5 minutes or more before you are able to access Blackboard. This is because the system must activate your account after creating it, and this process can take time even after receiving your confirmation email.

How do I access Brockport Blackboard Collaborate?

In order to use Brockport Blackboard Collaborate, you must have either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome installed on your computer. You will need administrator privileges in order to install the software.

Installation is a fairly easy process, however, please refer to for detailed instructions on installation and use of Collaborate if you have any trouble with the steps below.

To access Brockport Blackboard Collaborate:

2) Click “Office 365” under Services Provided by Information Technology Services in the left-hand menu bar.

3) In Office 365 click on “Collaborate”. If you do not see this option, then click on “more”, located directly underneath the search bar at the top of your screen and select Collaborate from there.  If you still don’t see it as an option, then you will need to contact your instructor or LMS administrator to make sure Collaborate is turned on for this class.

4) Enter the required information (your 8-digit SUNY ID number and either your 6-digit birth date or 4-digit student ID number).  You should now see a screen which says “Blackboard Collaborate”.  Click on the link at the top of the screen that says “Launch Collaborate”.

5) If you have not yet signed into Brockport Blackboard before, then at this point you will be prompted to do so. You can sign in with Google Gmail or Microsoft Outlook if you have one of these email addresses. Otherwise simply enter your full name in exactly.
